The key ingredient in Unique Beauty products is the locally sourced and renewable ingredient, whey, which ensures extremely high contents of protein, vitamins and minerals.

In every product category nature’s most effective active ingredients are chosen in order to ensure uncompromised effectiveness of every product.

In line with our principles of sustainability; we only use wind power in our production; we always prioritize locally sourced and renewable ingredients from the Danish and Nordic flora; and we only use fair trade aloe vera.

WE USE

Mild, environmentally friendly cleansing agents of natural origin, plant-based emulsifiers, certified organic hydrosols, certified organic plant oils, certified organic milk, mild preservatives, certified organic essential oils, certified fair trade ingredients and energy from certified wind power.

WE NEVER USE

Parabens, propylene glycol, synthetic colours, synthetic fragrances, nano-ingredients, genetically modified ingredients, formaldehyde, derivatives of formaldehyde, poisonous chemicals, lanolin, SLS/SLES, triethanolamin (TEA), EDTA, urea, MI, MIT or animal testing.

All our products are

Unique Beauty products are certified by Ecocert, which requires:

  • The absence of GMO, parabens, phenoxyethanol, nanoparticles, silicon, PEG, synthetic perfumes and dyes, animal-derived ingredients (unless naturally produced by them: milk, honey, etc.).The biodegradable or recyclable nature of packaging.
  • A minimum of 95% of all plant-based ingredients in the formula and a minimum of 10% of all ingredients by weight must come from organic farming.

All Unique Beauty products hold a minimum of 98 % plant-based ingredients and up to 43% ingredients come from organic farming. The products are mild, pure and sustainable.

Unique Products supports a project in Ghana, Africa where we buy shea butter and a project in Mexico where we buy aloe vera. The projects help the farmers develop and market their crops for export. The projects promote sustainable production and fair trade with the aim of furthering economic growth in the countries. In the majority of our products we use a minimum of 20% certified fair trade ingredients.

Our shea comes from a group of women in an impoverished area in the north-eastern corner of Ghana, bordered by Burkina Faso to the north and Togo to the east. With few employment opportunities, a large percentage of the population rely on agriculture for their livelihood. The majority of both men and women are subsistence farmers, growing maize, millet, corn, peanuts and rice. The main income for women is derived from collecting shea nuts fallen from the shea trees which grow naturally in the surrounding area.

We conduct our own research and development in-house in close dialog and cooperation with raw material specialists worldwide in order to ensure that we implement the newest research and science into our products. We use advanced active ingredients behind which lay years of extensive research conducted by the leading raw material companies in the world. In this way, we offer highly advanced and active natural beauty products.

We always prioritize the most sustainable way of producing and hence choices of ingredients, energy sources, production and transportation processes are therefore based on the lowest possible environmental impact. We take sustainability further by:

  • Exceeding any organic certification standards
  • Using easily renewable and locally sourced ingredients from the Danish and Nordic flora in order to minimize the ‘’CosmeticMileage’
  • Using 100% wind power to produce
  • Choosing partners based on their adherence and contribution to sustainability.

Unique Products has been a Cruelty Free International approved manufacture for several years, which means that all our products are manufactured without causing any cruelty to animals. We fully comply with the requirements of the Humane Cosmetics Standard.

We believe it is wrong to continue using animals to test the safety of cosmetic products as there are other methods of evaluating safety.
We have never commissioned any other company to do animal testing and we insist that all our suppliers do not test their ingredients on animals for cosmetic purposes.

We produce all products in-house in our lab and as a production company we consider it our duty to do business in the most environmentally friendly way possible. Therefore our entire production runs 100% on wind power.

We use green surfactants based on easily renewable sources like corn, potatoes, wheat, coconut and palm kernel. Our suppliers of rawmaterials made from palm kernel and coconut are all certified sustainable.

Our main ingredient is organic whey, which contains a rich source of proteins, vitamins, minerals and lipids, that all have a fantastic effect on skin and hair.
Denmark produces a huge amount of organic cheese, and for every kilo of cheese produced you are left with 9 kilo of whey. We developed an enviromentally friendly method where a large amount of water normally used in cosmetic products, are replaced with organic whey. The result is a higher degree of ecology and much more effective and advantageous products than you will normally find on the market.

​From an environmentally and sustainable point of view whey is fantastic because you do not need soil or machines to produce it, it is already there and readily available in Denmark. This makes whey very unique as it, besides its beauty advantages, contributes to reducing the CO2 count.
